L.u.DE.S. Faculty of Human Sciences is one of the most innovative and original proposals ever made by universities at international levels. Its mission concerns education, professional consulting services, study, research and organisation of high level cultural events. It furthermore avails itself of the cooperation of lecturers, researchers and collaborators who are highly qualified both in didactics and in research and methodology. Faculty of Human Sciences can also count on a wide range of national and international cooperation allowing its students and researchers to carry out a constant comparison work and to reach excellent levels in the different disciplines.

Purpose: A window on the world

The Faculty of Human Sciences aims at qualifying professionals and experts able to combine local with global dimension and to flexibly commit their theoretical knowledge and competences in different sectors and contexts.

History, philosophy, pedagogy, anthropology, juridical aspects, languages and sociology are combined with scientific knowledge and methodologies. The key point of the Faculty of Human Sciences is the interdisciplinary approach supported by collaboration in the specific sectors of mathematics, chemistry, biology and neuroscience.

From this point of view, fields of knowledge are no longer alternative but complementary and specialisation occurs on a wider context of knowledge. These assumptions allow a modern and innovative educational program adapted to global reality and to our society.

The Faculty of Human Sciences is a sort of window on the world where students have the possibility to test the most modern didactic methodologies and to “learn by doing”, supported by their tutors who don’t’ make study easier but act as a point of reference for the whole period of University.

Areas of activity

Didactic activity is particularly focused on Anthropology, Criminology, Forensic Sciences and Bioethics. These are all areas of interdisciplinary study, where knowledge and competence have to necessarily concern different fields of knowledge. With their own characteristic method, these areas are turning into the most advanced and modern disciplines, able to face up to the most important challenges of our society.
L.U.de.S. University intends to strengthen and develop didactic and scientific exchange of the different courses by enhancing research projects and common initiatives.
